Museum Education

As part of our partnership with the New York State Museum, TOAST maintains a Museum Room at TOAST. The room is the site for object-based learning and hands-on activities that compliment and extend the Magnet School Theme Curriculum.

The Museum Education Program provides students with a sensory rich environment to promote keen observation and independent thinking.  The Museum Room is a center-based room that allows children to move around the room; they can touch artifacts as well as investigate technology and its history.

Field trips to the New York State Museum are offered to classes on an on-going basis, allowing students access to the many fine exhibits at the school.

 Partnerships that use the museum curriculum and compliment our science themes include:

    *  The New York State Museum

    *  Albany Visitor's Center and Planetarium

    *  Pine Bush Discovery Center

    *  Emma Treadwell Thatcher Nature Center

    *  Albany Institute of History and Art
