Computer Mentoring: Students in grades 3-5 can assist the PreK and Kindergarten students through our computer mentoring program. Mentors help out once a week for 30 minutes and assist the younger students with signing on, accessing the programs and websites and answering any questions that they may have. This is a wonderful opportunity for all of our students at TOAST.
Podcasting Class: Students in 5th grade have the opportunity to join our podcasting class which is held once a week on Friday afternoons. Students in this class will learn more about video taping, creating, editing and uploading movies as well as taking pictures to create slideshows for our school. They will also assist teachers in creating projects.
GenYES: GenYES is our 5th grade technology program at TOAST. Students ultimately become "teachers" and "tech assistants" and help our Faculty and Staff with troubleshooting, creating projects, assisting with researching topics, etc. Students will learn how to use digital and flip cameras, how to create spreadsheets, graphs, slideshows, use recording software and how to troubleshoot problems when they arise. They will be expected to communicate effectively, work collaboratively and become our "help desk" when teachers and staff have a request. http://www.genyes.com/
Technology Club: The 5th grade GenYES program will be held once a week afterschool. Student will receive a more in depth experience with the GenYES curriculum and will also use this time to assist teachers. Information for this club will be sent home in the fall.
